  1. How to fix this strange, somewhat obscure microphone bug?

My microphone, for about a whole year now, has had this VERY annoying problem. Basically, if its picking up audio for about more than half a second, my microphone volume will drop by around 90%, I can be very quietly humming, that will fade out. I can be screaming, that will fade out. I have acquired new headphones and the mic problem still has persisted. I've tried to trouble shoot software for it to be just completely in vain. And im getting desperate to fix this annoying issue due to it putting a hard cap on anything I can say and do because nobody will hear me due to how severe the sound d

How to fix this strange, somewhat obscure microphone bug?

    Microphone issues

    Hi Michael,

Here are the possible reasons why you're getting an error "The microphone did not pick anything up" when using it:

    • Incorrect settings (microphone is not set as default device)
    • Corrupted or outdated driver
    • Faulty device

For us to isolate the issue, we'd like to know the following:

    • Were there any changes made to your computer prior to this issue(e.g. Windows updates)?
    • Have you tried connecting other microphone to your computer?
    • Have you tried connecting the microphone to the other computer?

In the meantime, we suggest running the Recording Audio Troubleshooter to find and repair problems with recording sound. We also suggest checking if your microphone is set as your default recording device. For troubleshooting steps, please see
    Geethu B's on this
    link.

We're looking forward to your reply.
