  1. How to fix "use a proxy server" setting It keeps resetting

I've been trying for the last two weeks to fix the use a proxy server setting It keeps randomly turning on and filling in with "http=localhost:8451;https=localhost8451"and every time it does this I cannot access anything through my network it's not even giving it a port number but it keeps turning back on and feeling this out each and every time no matter how many times I empty this box and turn it off I've already scanned for viruses with Norton it can't find anything virus related so I'm thinking it has something to do with something I managed to somehow break internally with my computers sy

  2. Forced proxy settings

This proxy server is probably inherited from the system settings. To bypass it:

    from an elevated prompt :

    Code: netsh winhttp reset proxy[/quote]

  3. Proxy Server Automatic reset

    Hi Yashwanth,

Let’s check the proxy settings and modify them if they are not configured correctly.

    • Type Proxy on the start menu search, click on Change Proxy settings.

    • Under Automatic Proxy setup.

    • Move the Automatically detect settings bar to ON.

    • Under Manual Proxy settings.

    • Move the Use a proxy server bar to OFF.

If the issue persists even after disabling the proxy settings, check the proxy settings in Internet Explorer. Follow the steps to disable proxy.

    • Click the Gear box at the top right corner in Internet Explorer.

    • Click the Tools button, and then click Internet Options.

    • Click the Connections tab, and then click LAN settings.

    • Uncheck the option Use a Proxy Server for your LAN.

    • Click Apply and Ok to cave changes.

You can also check if some third party software is causing the problem. Try to uninstall the program and see if it corrects the problem.

Hope this helps. Do get back to us should you need further assistance.

    Regards.

How to fix "use a proxy server" setting It keeps resetting

My proxy settings keep being changed

    Hi Rob,

A proxy server works like a secondary hub that offers a computer network service to allow clients to make indirect network connections to other network services. To resolve your concern regarding proxy server, we'd like to ask a few questions:

    • Which Windows version and built is your device running? Type winver on the search bar and press
      Enter to find out.
    • Have you made any recent changes prior to the concern?

In the meantime, you may click this link and follow the steps in resetting your Internet
    Explorer proxy settings.

You may also set up a proxy using Edge. You may check the steps provided below:

    • Open Edge.
    • Click the three dotted lines in the top-right corner of the window.
    • Select Settings.
    • Scroll down and click View advanced settings.
    • Choose Open proxy settings.
    • Click the switch beneath Use a proxy server to turn it on.
    • Select the Address field.
    • Type the IP address of the proxy server you're using.
    • Click the Port field.
    • Type the port number.
    • Click Save.

Get back to us with the result.
