Windows 10: How to fix Windows 10 crashing on Startup and Shutdown

My PC has been crashing on startup and shutdown lately. It takes me about 5-15 attempts of turning it on and holding power off, or unplugging and draining power, and attempting again to get it up and running. It freezes on both the screens shown. Usually freezes after about 3-10 seconds of the windows wheel turning. I can never enter BIOS anymore and it loads straight to Windows boot up sequence and freezes. If and when I get can get to my desktop, my pc will run fine for hours on end with no issues. I’ve done a windows security full scan and there is nothing out of the ordinary, I was playing

• Open a run box
• type in "gpedit.msc"
• Expand Computer Configuration
• Expand Windows Settings
• Select Scripts (Startup/Shutdown)
• Double click Startup
• Click Show Files and copy/paste your file in to this folder
• Click the Add button on the startup properties
• Click Browse and double click on your script to choose it.
• "OK" out of all windows to apply the new settings.

Windows 10 "Shutdown Button" Not Working - I Give Up

Hello, Caxtin. I’ve not actually heard about this before - I’m assuming when you shut down and make a small mouse or keyboard input it turns on instantly? My guess on the fix is to disable Fast startup. Fast Startup is also known as Windows Hybrid Shutdown. Follow these steps to disable it:

1. Open the Control Panel
2. Go to Hardware and Sound → Power Options
3. Click on Choose what the power button doeschoose what the power button does
4. Go to Shutdown Settings
5. Uncheck the Turn on Fast Startup (recommended) optionturn off fast startup windows 10
6. Apply the changes.

If you can’t uncheck Fast Startup, click on the option Change settings that are currently unavailable. You could also run the shutdown command to see if that works (a method of troubleshooting if the above option doesn’t work) In the start menu type: Shutdown /s /t 0 - *Smile
