Windows 10: How to fix Windows 10 upgrade through Microsoft store turned into Enterprise and not active.

Hello,I purchased a new laptop with windows 10 Home installed. I purchased the upgrade to Pro in the Microsoft store and tried to install. It said upgrade failed, error code 0x80070490. When checking the settings it shows Microsoft Enterprise and “Windows not activated”, error code 0x004C003.I did not receive a product key. How can I get Pro installed and actually working?

If you upgraded to Windows 10 for free and ended up in a non-activated state, try following these steps:

• Go to Start
  
  , then select Settings > Update & security > Activation.
• Select Go to Store, and check to see if a valid license is available for your device. If a license isn't available, you'll need to buy Windows from the Store.

or you could hack it with a crack but please note this is always risky and you don't know what's in the hack

I won't buy a key, stupid.

I'll revert back to windows 7 then.

When I still was on windows 7, about a year ago I added 4GB extra ram which is a total of 8GB now,
is that causing the problem?

 

Windows 10 Activation - Purchased thru Microsoft Store

I purchased Windows 10 Pro thru the microsoft store in july. It was working great.

A recent windows update caused windows to think its Windows 10 Enterprise - which fails activation.

Since I purchased thru store I don't have a product key to paste in the Activation Window (found in steps to fix documentation).

I cannot get in touch of anyone at Microsoft for less than $499 (Business support no thanks).

When I open the store it says - your not using a valid version of enterprise ( this is super annoying ).. When I goto the windows professional store page - it says "upgrade to legit windows 10 enterprise" (no thanks)... I really just want this nightmare
to end and have the windows I bought. (Windows 10 Professional)

But seem to be in endless documentation / Activation / other random that leads in circles..
