  1. How to force network profile to Private for every network connection?

Hi,I am doing a system deployment where it consists of a few windows machines that form a local network and exchange data between each machine. It is a requirement from the software vendor that these windows machines must be running in Private network profile in order to get the system works without issues. The local area network is then linked to a router for an internet connection. My problem is every time I provision the setup in my staging lab when I move it to the client side during the actual installation date, the network profile seems to change to Public automatically once it is connect

    :)

    Change network to private

Thanks for both of your replies!

Could you tell me how to make my pc forget a connection?
When I connect to the modem (just a modem, no router), by plugging in the ethernetcable it automatically connects, and doesn’t ask for any configuration of any kind.

I’ve tried the first 3 options of the tutorial, but non seem to work. When clicking on said network it doesn’t show an option in the settings to click private, public or domain (see pic)

When going through the Local Security Policy it doesn’t show the network in de Network List Policy, just All Networks. And when I click on that it just shows me User Permissions, no options for private, public or domain (see pic)

In the Registry Editor, Network List, Profiles I’ve set the Category DWORD value to 1 for private, but it doesn’t fix it (see pic)

    Sorry for the lousy pics...

    VPN (Virtual Private Networking)

    Hi Julio,

A virtual private network extends a private network across a public network or internet. It enables users to send and receive data across shared or public networks as if their computing devices were directly connected to the private network.

    Always On

Always On is a new feature in Windows 10 which enables the active VPN profile to connect automatically on the following triggers:

    • User sign-on
    • Network change
When a device has multiple profiles with Always On triggers, the user can specify the active profile in
    Settings > Network & Internet > VPN >
VPN profile > Let apps automatically use this VPN connection.

You may also refer the link below for more information.

For further queries I suggest you to post in
    TechNet forum.

    Thank you.

  4. How to force network profile to Private for every network connection?

    Losing network connection

Hello Dear, if you have a laptop or a PC with a wireless network adapter, you can see a list of available wireless networks and then connect to one of those networks. The wireless networks will only appear if your PC has a wireless network adapter installed, the adapter is turned on, and the wireless access point is in range.

    1. Click Start, click Control Panel, click Network and Internet Connections, and then click Network Connections.

    2. In the left pane, under Network Tasks, click View available wireless networks.
In case, If you don't see the network you want to connect to, click Refresh network list. If you see the network but the signal is weak, move the PC closer to the wireless router.

    3. Click the network you want to connect to, and then click Connect.

    4. If you're connecting to a secure network, type the security key, and then click OK.

I Hope you solve out your query soon.
