    How to format C: drive before re-installing Windows?


    My disk has errors. I've run chkdsk /f /r and scanned it, but that didn't fix it. I reinstalled Windows without keeping any of my files, and that didn't fix it. I reinstalled Windows from a rescue Windows USB drive, still have disk errors.How can I format the C: drive THEN install Windows from the rescue media?

    How to format on Windows 7

    just format from the installer on the windows 7 DVD. the options there when you choose which drive to install on.


    i suggest partiotining the drive, i run with a 60GB C: drive, but then move my user folder to the D: partition - so that when i format/reinstall, my desktop/my docs, etc, dont get lost.

    could someone please list the steps they follow to install windows with a dual core processor and windows xp service pack to. I'm reletively new to amd dual core and i feel i'm missing a step. All help will be appreciated. thanx
