Windows 10: How to get 1920×1080 resolution on 1366×768 screen in Windows 10

If you want to get 1920×1080 resolution on a 1366×768 screen in Windows 10, then this post might be helpful. There will be less scrolling with higher resolution while working with documents and web browsers, sharper images, a better gaming experience, and lots more. Windows OS will automatically set the best screen resolution for your PC as the default. But you can switch to any other – as long as things don’t look odd.



Get 1920×1080 resolution on 1366×768 screen in Windows 10


To set 1920×1080 display resolution in Windows 10 computer screen, there are two options that might help. These are:

1. Change Display resolution using Settings
2. Update Display adapter driver.

Let’s check these two options.

1] Change Display resolution using Settings




These are the steps:

1. Open Settings app using Win+I hotkey
2. Access System category
3. Scroll down to access the Display resolution section available on the right part of the Display page
4. Use the drop-down menu available for Display resolution to select 1920×1080 resolution
5. Press the Keep changes button.

If you want, you can also use other ways to change display resolution in Windows 10.

2] Update Display adapter driver




If you aren’t able to set 1920×1080 display resolution on your Windows 10 computer, then it is probably because you have an outdated display adapter driver or Graphics driver. So, updating to the latest graphics driver might work. Doing this is pretty simple.

Simply use the Search box to open Device Manager or use any of your preferred ways to open it. After that, access the Display adapters section, and update Graphics drivers on your Windows 10 computer.

You’ll have the option to automatically update the driver to the latest version or update it manually by using the file stored in your computer (if available). After updating the Graphics driver, restart the computer if required and then try to change the display resolution.

If you still cannot change it, it could be a hardware limitation.

Mirror screen to a higher resolution screen.

Hello team,

I have a laptop with resolution 1366 x 768, then I want to mirror this to an HD TV. The problem I have is that when I plug the HDMI cable, the TV shows the screen in a small square and a huge gray border since the TV 1920 x 1080 in the optimal resolution
(I tested leaving the TV as the only display).

When I do an extended screen I can select the resolution for the laptop and TV separately, but when I do mirror the setting shows the resolution combined as 1/2 and since the primary considered by the OS is the laptop's screen, the resolution is limited
to 1366 x 768.

How can I mirror in 1920 x 1080? This size is not listed.

 

1920 by 1080 resolution missing

Hello,

i use a hp envy touch smart 15, the screen got bad so I had it replaced, after which I noticed that all icons were larger than before.

When I tried to change the resolution I discovered the limit was 1366 by 768.

I have updated the driver for both my Intel 4600 and Nvidia as well, but still I can't see the 1920 by 1080 option.

Also when I change the resolution in the registry (HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE - SYSTEM -CUrrentcontrol set- Hardware profiles- United video-control-video) DefaultSettings.xresolution it allows me edit the resolution to 1920 by 1080, but when I restart the system
it would have reverted to 1366 by 768.

please how do I resolve this?

I have lost the option for 1920 x 1080 screen resolution

Please can someone help me. I have lost the option for 1920 x 1080 screen resolution. I thought everything looked a bit odd, and my usual workflow was no longer fitting on the page. I went to the display settings to check my resolution and the 1920 x 1080
screen resolution was gone. The recommend option is now showing as 1366 x 768 - and I can't change it.

I have updated all my drivers. I have tried the roll back driver option, I have uninstalled latest windows 10 update...nothing is returning my option for the 1920 x 1080 screen resolution.

I really need the original resolution setting back - it has altered how my screen displays and is making it difficult to work.
