Windows 10: How to get a file explorer icon into the Quick Launch Toolbar

My system has just had its Windows 10 Pro x64 re-installed after it stopped booting. I now have dozens, if not hundreds of thing to re-configure.
I've re-instated the Quick Launch Toolbar, and now I'm trying to get an icon for File Explorer in this toolbar. This basically requires me to find an icon for File Explorer that can be dragged, or which responds to a right click.
I've found several sets of instructions, but so far none of them work (on this Windows 10 which is about two hours old).

Any suggestions? If you have an 80 year old grandmother, please try your instructions on her first! I'm a near 70 year old IT specialist (from a few years ago).

Windows 10 Tool Bar

You can also follow the steps below on how to add quick launch toolbar in Windows 10:

• Right click on the taskbar, go to Toolbars, then select
  New Toolbar.
• A folder will appear. Copy and then paste the following and hit Enter:
  • %UserProfile%\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch
• The Quick Launch Toolbar will be added.
• To access the Quick Launch context menu, click on the arrow to the right of Quick Launch of taskbar, and select the desired menu.

Quick Launch always missing?

Thank you. I created the Quick Launch by this steps: Firstly, I click the right-hand button of the mouse on the Taskbar--Toolbar--New toolbar. Then C:\Users\（present administrator）\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch. Lastly, choose
"Select folder". I can see the "Quick Launch" icon showed in the bottom right on the Taskbar.

 

Use File Explorer and browse to C:\Windows\explorer.exe, right click send to desktop as shortcut, drag shortcut to Quicklaunch, delete desktop shortcut if required.

Yes I use QuickLaunch ;o)

 

PS; you can use 'clam1952' method of sending a draggable shortcut to desktop to automatically start programs, like browser or email client at startup too.

 

If you use a start menu replacement like Classic Shell or (as in my case) Start 10, you can simply right-click the program tile or .exe file and select "Pin to taskbar" from the pop-up menu.
And so it goes, here in Windows-land, where there are too many paths to success (or failure, alas) for any one person to know.
