Windows 10: How to get a picture on tv/monitor with hdmi PC connection?

My PC worked on my monitor with HDMI connection 2/3 days ago,I am on Windows 10, and haven’t done any updates recently.My problem started today, as I’ve done some rearranging in my home for couple days, and now my PC is refusing to connect to my TV.I’ve tried connecting it to tv’s that have worked before but with no luck..Just keeps saying “No signal”.The TV I have been using has 3 HDMI ports, and none of them give me a picture from my PC.I’ve tried unplugging, re plugging cables, trying hard resets on my PC.I even bought a new cable to try plugging my PC to my TV.. and still it refuses to con

Please reply to the questions mentioned below in order to assist you in a better way.

• Are you connecting the PC and TV using a HDMI cable?
• Did you make any changes prior to the issue?

I suggest you to try the steps below and check if it helps.

• First you need a video cable for making the physically connection. For better picture quality, you should connect the computer to the TV using standard VGA ports or via the DVI to HDMI cable provided your TV supports these ports.
• Open the "display settings" in your computer and activate output to the TV screen. You can either mirror content of your computer on the TV or extend the display just like a dual monitor screen.
• Pick up your TV remote and switch to "External Inputs" from the menu. You will need to change the default "Video 1" to a different selection which may be "HDMI 1" or "Video 2" depending on how you have made the connection.

Important: Make sure you connect the cable to the TV before turning on the computer as sometimes it may fail to recognize external display.

You may also need to change the screen resolution of your TV using the Display settings in your Control Panel else the picture may appear distorted.

Please revert if you face any issues with PC not connecting to TV.

If the PC has detected your HDMI-TV connection then it will be shown as an additional display in Settings, System, Display.




If there is no additional display shown then your PC has not detected your HDMI-TV connection
- Unless there is something wrong with the connection itself, I'd first try going to your PC maker then downloading and [re-]installing the latest display driver.
- I suggest you also check your PC manual & any user forum your PC maker provides to see if there is any useful guidance there.
- You might also get somebody else to connect their PC to your TV using the same TV settings & HDMI cable to prove that nothing there is at fault.
