You are about to read some bad English. and I am really sorry about it. I am not a native English speaker.
    Hey Guys, Good Evening
    I am having some problems
I want to know that how can I get access to windows apps folder after moving it to D drive
I have tried everything there is but I still can't get access to it
I can only access the drive if I am using the hidden administrative account and even on hidden administrative account I can only see those files I can't do anything to the files for example if I want to edit or replace those files I can't do it...The error will popup and say Access Denied this happening on hidden administrative account What should I do

and IF I want to delete those files this error comes up

  2. Changing Default Save Location Reverts Back to C: drive

I tried going into storage settings to change the default app install category to my secondary drive D:, but it will not save new apps to that drive. It creates a WindowsApps folder there, but I cannot open it even though I followed the guide to take ownership
of this folder (the guide worked for the WindowsApps folder in CHow to get Access to windows Apps folder on the secondary drive ? :).

Any idea? The "new apps saved to" isn't greyed out, but it won't save to D:. I have a second hard drive that I wanted to use for games, but I cannot get Rise of Tomb Raider windows store app edition off of my main hard drive and to my secondary hard drive.

Yes, I have the big November update, otherwise I wouldn't be able to get Tomb Raider.

How to get the Apps folder back in the start menu

    Hi Gerry,

I have had several people asking me how to get the Apps folder back in the start menu and not the untidy listing of them as is now. Most want to go back to 1511 with this as a main reason. What non computer person is designing this crap, I do not put all
my files in the root directory of my drive, I sort all my data into folders and sub-folders, it's like a proper filing cabinet I can find any file or document within seconds, these people probably just throw all their cloths into one big cupboard or as windows
into one room instead of individual shelves in individual cupboards like any tidy organised person would. I also go mad when I see a computer main window fill of junk items and a shortcut to every file on the system and then they cant even find them. As a
manager I took the first opportunity to fire my secretary because she did that, and when I asked her for a document she typed for me she could never find it. Everything saved in My Documents Root was her best effort of organisation. And it looks like some
    Microsoft Developers are likewise.

I quite like some of the new features in 1607 and do not think that windows 10 is bad at all, just needs more possibility for customizing certain layouts and features. They need to focus on what is important not just on what is nice for games. Big improvements
need to be done on Edge if they intend to use it as a multipurpose app Like opening PDF documents, one cannot open a PDF and mail it to someone, no Email to Icon and that is something I have 30 people doing on a daily basis. If one adds a feature make it at
least as good as the 3rd party's worst version, like adobe Reader, at least that can do a few important things.

To Stay on Top one needs to be wide awake and observe what is going on.

    Kind Regards

But I still can't get access to it

Do you have any suggestions to solve my problem

Hello, I don't yet know what's going on, so can't make a suggestion. I can open that folder in its default location

    %LocalAppData%\Packages

    with no problem:

I can't get access to windows apps folder on my other driveWhich is the 'other drive'? C or D?Are you trying to access the original apps folder on C: after having moved it?

Can you please post a screenshot of what you see,
both there (put %LocalAppData%\Packages in the explorer address field)
and of the folder you believe should contain your universal apps on D?

Now, if I right click on that folder in explorer, properties, security I see

System Allow (all except special permissions) Deny none
    Me The same
    Administrators The same

    What do you see?

And why would you get an error message about creating a folder?

By changing the permissions and trying to delete apps like that you're more likely to create problems than fix them.

what are you talking about I am talking about windows apps folder which is in
C:\Program Files\WindowsApps this is their default location I ....I am really sorry If I am wrong but I think this is the original and their default location.

and if you want to access this location user have to change the permission which I did and I got in only in the default location not on the secondary drive

Don't worry about it ..I already know the consequences & I already know how to revert or restore my permissions back...and even If that doesn't work then I already have my full hardisk back...SO don't worry about it

Hi, here are two ways to delete such items by not using Windows.
(and of course you could read/copy the files and folders if you wish)

    1. Delete it from a command prompt outside Windows.
You will need some familiarity with commands to do this.

Shift + hover over Restart, left click. Boot to a command prompt. Navigate (carefully) to the correct drive, noting the drive letters will be different viewed here. Navigate to your folder. Delete it.

    2. Boot your PC from a live boot disk
    (e.g.
Windows 10 Recovery Tools - Bootable Rescue Disk - Windows 10 Forums

Navigate to your folder and delete it

I probably won't be much helpful, but I think applications in the WindowsApps folder are EFS-encrypted, which may explain the bad data error you got. I personally can't move the WindowsApps folder to a secondary place, and I think it's because I prevented the filecrypt filesystem minifilter driver to start, as it was posing some problems not relevant here. I suppose this driver is used to encrypt/decrypt data transparently in kernel space, and is essential to EFS.

I knew it the main problem is encryption so can't we just remove this encryption ...or is there is anyway to modify it

I suppose the EFS encryption certificate and associated private key are outside of the user context where you try to access the WindowsApps folder, otherwise the files would be transparently decrypted as you access them, hence the job may be to find this certificate+key pair.

Running the certificate manager (MMC snap-in) as admin might help you find it, but I'm doubtful, otherwise it would have worked while you were trying as an admin. In the System user context, maybe... but all this post is just a wild guess.

How to get Access to windows Apps folder on the secondary drive ?

I don't know if this will help your situation but when ever Windows tells me "You do not have permission" I have a Live Linux USB made for just such occasions. You can move, add, or delete files and folders with it. I like Linux Mint because it's very similar to Windows but any live distribution will do. It has saved me a lot of headaches.

Plus it won't help you decrypt anything...

I'm going to try and come back here, but I suppose you could run the command line tool as the System user by creating an interactive scheduled task.

EDIT : Getting an interactive command line as the System user isn't as easy as it used to be in the past, with no additional tools it's a real pain eventually, but you can download the psexec utility from the sysinternals suite at live.sysinternals.com - / or Windows Sysinternals: Documentation, downloads and additional resources . You then have to type as an administrator : psexec -i -s cmd which should give you a much elevated command prompt.
