Windows 10: How to get back my User folder on Desktop Windows 10?

Hello, I am using Windows 10 Pro 64 bit. I have mistakenly deleted the 'User' folder from my desktop and it got permanently deleted without anything going into Recycle Bin. How do I get it back? I know the 'create new shortcut and paste directory address' method but it doesn't gives back the 'original' User folder I deleted, it's just a shortcut. Please help, I need this both for learning and getting the User folder back.

• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK

windows 10 deleted my desktop files

Step 1 - I upgraded to Win 10 and lost all my files on Desktop.

Step 2 - Found the files in Network - USers- Desktop

copied all files again to desktop.

Step 3- Restarted my machine again and lost desktop files again.

Step 4 - As suggested did the following as listed below but dont find my files.

• Press “Windows + E”, open This PC/Computer
• Open Local Disc C, open Windows.old
• Click on Users, select your User name
• Go to desktop folder

Cant find my files. Why is Win 10 deleted files again and again from Desktop ?.

There are different ways for you to recover the previous folder settings on your computer. One of these is by following the steps below to organize and relocate your desktop or user folder.

• Press Windows key + E to launch File Explorer.
• Right-click on the special folder that you want to restore (Desktop).
  
• Then select Properties.
• Navigate to the Location tab.
• Click Restore Default.
• Then click Apply to save the changes.
