Windows 10: How to get back recent taskbar changed by MS?

[Desktop Dell Inspiron 560 4gb RAM; high speed cable; MS Windows10, 64bit; Windows Live Mail 2012(awful!!!); MS Word Pro 2003; Mozilla Firefox; AvastAV; Windows Media Player; Adobe Reader; Adobe flash Player]

Yesterday (1-22-16) my email program came all back after being deprived of it for the last 2 full weeks.
BUT. . .I don't like what they did with my taskbar! Could someone please tell me how to change it back to how it was?

Now each time I have to switch from email to browser, I have to click several times on their vertical up/down arrows. This isn't working for me.

Anyone help please? Thanks so very much!!!

This issue might occur if the Windows system files goes corrupted. I suggest you to follow the below troubleshooting steps and check if it resolves the issue.



Step 1: Run the SFC scan



Run the Microsoft Windows Resource Checker tool, also know as "System File Checker" or "sfc". This tool scans and verifies the integrity of all protected system files and replaces incorrect versions with correct versions.
Here's how:

1. Press Windows key + X, click Command Prompt (Admin).

2. In the Command Prompt, type the following command, sfc /scannow
and then press Enter.

3. Wait until the process completes. This usually doesn’t take longer than 20 minutes with a regular hard disk and

takes much shorter when you have a fast SSD drive.

4. Check to see if the issue is resolved. If not, restart the system.



Step 2: Run the DISM tool



If no corrupted system files were found in the previous state, then I suggest you to try the following steps to employ the DISM command lines to fix any files that System File Checker can't repair:

1. Right click on Start, click on Command Prompt (Admin).

Type Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth and press Enter.

Type Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth and press Enter.

Type Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth and press Enter.

2. Close the command prompt and restart the PC and check if it works.

Forgot to tell you that I accidentally made a pen mark on the screenshot and couldn't erase it. It's a blue crooked line starting from the left side of the taskbar. Please ignore it. Thanks.
