Windows 10: How to get computer to recognize an audio card is installed after update

Did a long over due windows update. After my computer restarted I had no sound. I’m fact the device manager did not even show an audio card even installed. Including looking at hidden items. I shut my pc off, swapped my audio card to a new slot and restarted it. Still shows no hardware installed. I went to the audio card manufacture site and download the drivers for it. Went to install it and it failed with an error stating no audio card hardware was there. I tried to uninstall the the update and that had no effect. The computer no longer recognizes that there is an audio card installed in

After I installed the updates KB3176936, KB3176934, and KB3176495, the audio stopped working

I'm facing a problem after I installed the updates KB3176936, KB3176934, and KB3176495, the audio stopped working.

I contact Dell's support and together we tried to:

• Update the driver
• Reinstall the driver
• Uninstall the driver to use windows suggested drivers.
• Remove the drivers to use the microsoft drivers.
• Run sfc
• Run Dell Assist Tools
• Run Driver updates tools
• Uninstalled the Windows updates.

None fixed the problem.

During the RCA I restored my computer 3 times and the issue is not on the sound card, since when I restore the system it works.

I'd like to know what would be the next steps.

Is Microsft release a patch for the update that is breaking the audio?

• Do any other SD cards work on your Windows 10 laptop?
• Have you tried checking if your Kingston SD10VG2 works on other computers? If not, we suggest you to do so.
• Were there any changes made on your laptop prior to this concern?

For possible resolution, check if the SD card is listed in Disk Management by following the steps below:

1. Press Windows key + X.

2. Click on Disk Management.

3. Check if Kingston SD10VG2
is listed.

If the SD card is not listed in Disk Management, we recommend you to check
for an updated driver from the manufacturer and have the latest version installed. After ensuring that the correct driver is installed, check if the device is recognized in the Device Manager.
