Windows 10: how to get cortana working after update to 2004

after installed the "feature update to win 10 , version 2004 Cortana ceases to function via a mic' Gives a msg that it is not available in the UK

I have tried suggestions to

"Set-ExecutionPolicy Unrestricted and press Enter
Get-AppXPackage -AllUsers Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$$_.InstallLocation\AppXManifest.xml"} and press Enter
3. Close the powershell window and go to C:/Users/yourusername/AppData/Local and look for the folder "TileDataLayer" > delete the folder if found skip to the next step if the folder doesn't exist

I also run the SFC and DISM command to repair system files

Issue persists with or without a firewall.

I have restored the OS to a previous version in order to have cortana hear mic'


Is there a workaround or fix ?

Coratna not working in Chinese language after Windows 10 2004 build

With the Windows 10 2004 update, there are few changes to Cortana. Cortana is decoupled from the operating system and is now a standalone app.

• Are you facing any issues with the Cortana app? If so, what is the error or message that you see?

When you say change to foreign language, if you are using English (United States), then ideally, Cortana should work as normal.

However, we would suggest you to perform these steps and check.

1. Open Microsoft Store app and
   click on the three dots (…) from the right top corner.
   
2. Now select Downloads and updates
   from the drop down.
   
3. Click on Get updates from the right top corner.
   
4. Once all the updates are installed, restart the PC and then relaunch Cortana.
