Windows 10: How to get documents deleted by Onedrive back

When I bought a new laptop a few months ago I didn’t realise that Onedrive installed in the background and caused the default save location to be itself. Soon, I ran out of onedrive space but kept saving files on my device with no problem and ignored the syncing error messages as I had no wish to subscribe and buy more storage. I thought I was saving documents directly onto my device but it seems that somehow they were still saving to onedrive, just not syncing. For several months I have had an issue whereby some thumbnails would not load and today I noticed it was only non synced documents th

Deleted my "Documents" folder in the OneDrive dropdown

• Tried to make room for my work, thought my documents folder in onedrive drop down arrow was empty, and my actual document were elsewhere. Deleted it, also emptied my recycling bin.
• Didn't realise until after bin was emptied.
• My OneDrive account is not backed up to a recent time and is behind 2 years.
• Lost all my university work.

 

Deleting multiple documents

That is simply more steps. What I want is for it to automatically select the next document in the list... so all I have to do is keep hitting delete. I know how to highlight sections or multiple documents... But I shouldn't have to select multiple at
a time. As it is now, I have to physically select the next document in the list then hit delete.

For example, in Outlook, I can run down my list of emails for the day and just hit delete. Fast and simple.

I was once able to do that in Explorer.

 

Windows 10 - OneDrive

Right click on the app and one of the properties has an option to not automatically start it. Uncheck, restart the computer, and it should stop. If you want to go another step further, find the OneDrive app in the start menu, right click on it and uninstall.
