Windows 10: How to get into a computer I've forgotten my password without erasing any information or photos

Hello my dad has died a while ago and my mum would like to access his computer but he was a computer expert so it's pretty hard to get past his computer if we get his password wrong three times we are locked out completely does anyone know how to get in to a computer you don't know the password without erasing information or photos?
