Windows 10: How to get into a computer I've got my password without erasing any information or photos

Hello my dad has died a while ago and my mum would like to access his computer but he was a computer expert so it's pretty hard to get past his computer if we get his password wrong three times we are locked out completely does anyone know how to get in to a computer you don't know the password without erasing information or photos?

Finally! An alternative to eraser...

it looks much cleaner then the eraser so that is a big step up.

 

Documets erased by change of password

We appreciate your reply. This issue on your computer is most likely a corrupted user account. For us to continue with the troubleshooting steps, we'd like to know if you are now able to sign in using the administrator account in question and if the files
are still missing.

If yes, we suggest that you change the administrator account in question to a local account and create a dummy account to verify if we can still retrieve your important files. Kindly follow the steps below:

Change the administrator account (Microsoft account) in question to a local account:

• Sign in using the administrator account in question.
• On the Search bar, type in Manage your account and select the top most result.
• On the Accounts window, under Your account, look for
  Sign in with a local account instead.
• Enter the information needed (mostly passwords that you wish to use) and click Sign out and finish. By doing this, the account in question will not interfere with the dummy account that you are about to create.

Meanwhile, kindly follow the steps on this
article on how to create a local account, we suggest that you convert it to a Microsoft account by typing
Manage your Account on the Windows 10 Search bar and select
Sign in with a Microsoft account instead. (refer to the photo below). This should enable you to retrieve the missing files.

SlideShow in Photos app does not display more that 30 photos

Thank you for your interest in Windows 10.

I suggest you to remove and re-add the photos folder from Photo app. Follow the steps below:

• 
  Open Photos App.
  
• 
  Click on Settings.
  
• 
  Under Sources click on the X mark next to the folder location listed to delete the location from Photos App.
  
• 
  Once done try to re-add the folder by clicking on Add a Folder.
  
• 
  Restart the computer and check if issue persists.
