  1. How to get keys mapped correctly on note PC's built-in Japanese keyboard

I brought a notebook PC from Japan to an English speaking country and want to give it to someone who doesn't speak Japanese. I do not want to install Japanese language interface, IME, language switching, etc. I want to install only Windows 10 Pro as licenced, only English language, drivers for the computer's devices, and keyboard layout matching the computer's built-in Japanese keyboard.Either way in Windows 10 settlings or in Control panel, I can set the Japanese keyboard layout. The setting stays in place but Windows does not obey it. Windows keeps pretending that the key to the right of P i

Toggle keys, capslock has no sound with Japanese 106/109 keyboard.

I recently received a new Thinkpad laptop with English Win10Pro and Japanese keyboard.

For the Japanese keyboard to work correctly, it is necessary to change the driver to

    Japanese PS/2 Keyboard (106/109 Key)

I have the Ease-of-Access "Toggle Keys" function is turned on.

However, turning capslock on/off (with shift-capslock) does not produce any sound.

Can anyone advise how I can enable the toggle-keys sound when using a Japanese (106/109 key) keyboard?

Note: If the input method is changed to 'US Keyboard', turning capslock on/off *does* produce a sound - but this is not a viable solution because a number of keys are mapped differently. It would appear this might be a toggle-keys issue, that is unable
to trigger when a Japanese keyboard layout is installed?

Switching Japanese Windows with English menus

Yes, I do mean those keys. I tried just switching to Japanese keyboard, as you suggested, but those keys didn't work. Also, the selection key is normally the spacebar in Japan but I could only get IME to work with the Tab key (for those who aren't familiar with Japanese typing: you type in Roman characters, then press a selection key and it steps you through a list of options for the word you are typing in Japanese characters). Did you get the special keys to work as they do in native Japanese mode?

It may well be that I was missing something, although I did try every option I could think of. In any event, as I said, I gave in and now have Japanese Windows running with English menus and everything seems to be working perfectly.
    Thanks,

    Mike
