Windows 10: How to get laptop to work again. Win 10 update killed it, I Only have a BLACK SCREEN NOW

Hello, I'M HAVING ISSUES WITH MY WINDOWS 10 UPDATE ON MY LENOVO 120S-11 IAP idea pad/LAPTOP type 81A4. I WAS USING MY LAPTOP ONE EVENING AND I GOT A MESSAGE THAT UPDATE WAS READY TO INSTALL sidenote I think this was a major update and I'm pretty sure that it was already updated the day before and maybe even the day before that because all of a sudden my storage was filling up BUT I NEEDED TO SHUT DOWN TO GET THE UPDATE COMPLETED , SO I FINISHED UP WHAT I WAS DOING AND I SHUT IT DOWN FOR THE EVENING, AND IN THE MORNING WHEN I TURNED IT ON ALL I HAVE IS A BLACK SCREEN IT'S BEEN LIKE THAT SI

Win 10 Pro Anniversary Update = black screen when running games. Is there a fix?

Recently updated to the Anniversary Update for Win 10 Pro. I held out for a while but decided to go ahead and install it. I am now receiving black screens when running games. The only work around is to run them in windowed mode rather than full screen. I can't update my video card drivers as they are the latest. Running a GTX 1070.

Is there any known fix for this?

 

HP 8440p laptop with Win 10 - black screen ?

I have a weird occurrence on this older laptop HP 8440p. Every once in a while - and too often - the screen will go black - the cursor will still be working and the machine is running, but the screen will be black and nothing will happen. I have left it for hours and the computer does not come back on. This will happen when it is being used or when it is sitting idle. The other day I was playing a game on it and the screen went black. I could still hear the game being played and the cursor were still responsive but I could see nothing. What I have done : 1) Used the MCT and created a new win 10 2) updated the drivers the best I could (they only have drivers for win 7 on the HP website) 3) I have turned off the power/sleep options. Any suggestions? Also, I do not know how to get into SAFE MODE - pressing f8 did not work.

 

Toshiba Laptop Black Screen

I have a Toshiba Laptop, Was reinstalling windows 7 on it last night left it doing the updates then shut it down. Turned it on this this afternoon only to find the laptop screen is Black and also there is a burning smell coming from the Fan.

I connected the Laptop to a external monitor that is fine, Can go into bios, Windows boots up fine Etc.
Just took apart the laptop earlier to check all the cables where in correctly, Checked the motherboard over for any damage, burnt bits but but found nothing. Just put it back together now but im still getting this burning smell and i still cant use the laptop screen only a external screen.

I Tried Pressing FN+F5 to switch to the laptop screen, But still black screen. Any Suggestions please ?
