Windows 10: How to get more detailed information about wireless networks around me?

I would like to know more information about the local wifi networks around me, such as the type of wireless protocol (N,G, B) or speed (2.4Ghz, 5gh) before I connect to the router.


All that I can currently do is connect to it. Any built in way for me to do this?

Wireless network issue

Right click start button(far left in task bar), go to Device manager, expand Network Adapters, right click Wi-Fi select Properties and find the version of your driver in Drivers tab.

Wireless networks could be set as a private network and that could be a possible reason why you are experiencing issues with viewing some wireless networks within your area. For us to provide better assistance, we would need to know if you are trying to

For initial troubleshooting, we suggest performing network reset. Follow these steps to do so:

• Go to Settings.
• Click on Network and Internet.
• Under Status, look for Network troubleshooter and then click on Network reset.
• Restart your computer once the process completed.

Change Wireless Network Connection Priority Order in Windows 10


Hello Denis,

The command in step 2 of Option Two should show your wireless networks listed in priority order. Top of the list is higher.
