Windows 10: How to get rid of old USB drivers?

Rollback is grayed out. I uninstall the device "M25 digital scale" but a re-install picked up the old USB that are not working. They worked for an USB ASIC miner that I used at one time. The scale works perfectly on another win 10 1903 system. What is strange is that the winusb.sys driver (non working) cause the system manager to clearly show the device which allowed me to find the 0x922 and 0x8003 vendor codes. The working drivers "hidclass.sys" did not show the weight scale and I had to switch the device manager from "Device by type" to "device by container" before the weigh scale showed up.



To summarize, the following driver details allow the scale program to work even if not identified




the following drivers don't work althogh they identify the scale properly




I cannot even delete winusb.sys from that \system32\drivers folder even in elevated permission

will try booting in safe mode and delete them as an uninstall remove drivers did not remove the drivers.

I suggest you to follow the steps below and check if it helps.

Method 1: Troubleshoot

Windows 10 has a built-in troubleshooter to check and fix issues with hardware and devices. I would suggest you to run this troubleshooter to check if the issue is with your USB. Refer these steps:

• Press Windows key +X, select Control panel
• Change the view by option on the top right to Large icons
• Click on troubleshooting and click on the view all option on the left panel
• Run the Hardware and devices troubleshooter

Method 2.

Try updating the latest USB devices from the manufacturer's website and check if the issue persists.

Follow the steps to update the USB drivers:

a. Press Windows key + X key and click Device Manager.

b. Expand the USB driver.

c. Right-click on the USB and click on Update driver software.

d. Restart the computer and check.

USB HDD driver??

Running HP ENVY 750-514 with Windows 10. Internal drive bays are full so am trying to use an external SATA 200Mb Samsung SP2004C drive connected through a USB 3.0 to SATA Hard Drive Adapter (drive has some old data I want to transfer). The drive is recognized
in ControlPanelDevices but doesn't list in Windows Explorer, therefore it's not accessible.

Device properties list the device as SAMSUNG SP2004C SCSI Disk Device, and list driver details as using DISK.SYS, EhStorClass.sys, or partmgr.sys. But SCSI?? It's a SATA device??

Another drive connected through USB is recognized as Seagate FreeAgent USB Device, and list driver details as using the same three files.

Anyone suggestions please? Thanks.

 

USB composite device "driver error"

Can you send us a screenshot of the error message? We suggest uninstalling and re-installing USB drivers and check if the issue persists. To do that, please follow these steps:

• Right-click on the Start button and select Device Manager.
  
• Expand Universal Serial Bus controllers.
• Right-click on the first USB controller under Universal Serial Bus controllers, and then click on
  Uninstall to remove it.
• Repeat these steps for the entire USB controller under Universal Serial Bus controllers.
• Restart the computer. Windows will automatically scan for hardware changes and reinstall all the USB controllers that you uninstalled.
