Windows 10: How to get rid of settings icon in onscreen keyboard

Hello,

Can anybody tell me hot to disable the settings icons in the onscreen keyboard. I use it in a museum with visitors, and they are not allowed to change settings obviously *Smile

how do I disable on screen keyboard in windows 10 ?

I've tried everything -- this doesn't work either. Just rechecked all the settings and properties for "touch screen keyboard and handwriting..." They are as instructed here. Just can't get rid of the pesky onscreen keyboard!

• Are you getting any error messages when you right-click on the icon and select
  Unpin from taskbar?
• Is the application open when you unpin it?

I can't tell you if the settings icon/button will disappear- you'll need to try it.

Your options will be more restricted or you will need to modify the registry if you have Home rather than Pro.

Note the article is dated 2016, but does apply to Win 10. It's possible there may be some difference now.

But is it also possible to hide the whole button?

 

As I said, you'd have to try it- or find a reference to someone who has. Sorry! Not tried.

 

I did and it will disable going to the settings. So for now it's better than it ever was *Smile Thnx for that!
If someone knows how to hide the button I'll try that.

Always worth looking in group policy too if you have Pro.. I noted something else related.
