Windows 10: How to get rid of temporary files to the tune of 90 GB

I have tried all measures listed on the internet but the temporary files still occupy nearly 87.6 GB of storage space. I have so far1. Tried using Disk cleanup to purge the 87.6 GB large temporary files2. Tried using Storage sense to clear it outHowever the 87.6 GB file never seems to leave keeps reappearing. The quantum of storage used is quite large considering my Windows 11 PC runs on a 512 GB SSD.

How to get rid of temporary files

That's what I am doing, but nothing is happening. Actually, since I posted a few hours ago I am now up from 1,6 GB to 4,1 GB of temporary files. Windows just don't want to delete them. And that is my problem.

Can't delete temporary files in Windows 10

Windows 10 says my temporary files have 5.16 GB of temporary files. Using this recommended method

Step 1

• Press Windows key + R
• Type temp and click OK
• Press Ctrl + A and click Delete

Step 2

• Press Windows key + R
• Type %temp% and click OK
• Press Ctrl + A and click Delete

Step 3

• Press Windows key + R
• Type prefetch and click OK
• Press Ctrl + A and click Delete

the files don't get deleted and looking at the size of the files I find that I have less than 30 Mbytes of temporary files

My computer (a tablet with keyboard) has only 32 GB of storage

What do I need to do to solve this problem?
