Windows 10: How to get the greater than and the less than symbol in an English Keyboard with a Frensh...

Hello , I have a "Daraz Xtrike Me Mechanical Keyboard Gk-915" , i started learning HTML and i need to use the greater than and the less than symbol, the problem is , im using a frensh AZERTY layout , and the only way to get them is by pressing the Left ALT + 6 + 0 for the Less and the Left ALT + 6 + 2 for the greater than , what i wanna do is to change or remap that shortcut to the ";" and ":" in AZERTY buttons without switching to QWERTY layout , im really used to the AZERTY layout so that why

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community.

I would suggest you to remove English UK and just have the default English US under keyboard input language and check.

Step 1:To keep English US as the default input language and to remove other installed services

a. Type Settings in the search bar and click on the setting symbol on the top right.

b. Click on Time and Languages.

c. Click on Region and Languages.

d. Under the languages tab.

e. Click and Change the language to English US.

Step 2:Use on screen keyboard to type the characters (@, “)

To use on-screen keyboard, follow the steps below.

a. Click on Start; type “On-screen” without quotes and hit Enter.

b. Now check if you’re able to get right characters.

Laptop Keyboard symbol error

Hi. My laptop keyboard has gone mad!!!
A lot of the symbol characters have swapped around eg

the "?" is now on the "_" button!

the "&" is the "/" button

the Hashtag is a £ sign and others have moved. Its a nightmare to type!

I have tried and it did Not work....

• Updated keyboard driver
  
• Uninstalled keyboard driver and restarted
  
• Changed Language to German
  
• Changed language back to English UK
  

Something worked temporarily was I changed keyboard to Irish Qwerty BUT when laptop went to sleep all symbols wrong again!

Changed back to English uk qwerty and works until asleep!!

I am running Windows 11 home edition.

Please Please any suggestions?

 

Multiple English keyboard

Before removing the English [UK] keyboard layout, do confirm that your keyboard is not an English [UK] one.
- On English [UK] keyboards the 2 key also has the " symbol on it.
- On English [US] keyboards the 2 key also has the @ symbol on it.
If yours is not an English [UK] layout then the Tutorial you have a link to is the right way to go.
