Windows 10: How to get Windows 10 Snip & Sketch to open up after launching/snipping from the keyboard?

Hello,I have noticed a frustrating issue when launching the newer Snip & Sketch using either a hotkey combination Windows key + shift + S or the print screen or dedicated snip buttons built into my Microsoft keyboard. When you launch Snip & Sketch that way, you basically get an "express" version of the app, that only lets you to take a snip immediately no delay option, and doesn't give you the options of editing, sharing, saving, etc. afterwards, like you do when you launch Snip & Sketch from the start menu. Is there a way to make the keyboard hotkeys/buttons work the same wa

Sketch and Snip

As we are working as a IT support for the secure project, we need to disable the sketch and snip in windows 10 20h2 as well as in 21h2.

We have tried to add the registry keys for DisabledHotKeys as well as NoWinKeys, and we have turned off the hotkeys from the gpedit.msc.

But it is helping to disable the hotkeys only but not the sketch and snip. There are different ways to open the sketch and snip.

1) If we disabled the hotkeys, we are able to open the sketch and snip from start.

2) We are able to open the sketch and snip from the quick actions which is inside the notification bar.

3) We are able to open the sketch and snip by using the command explorer ms-screenclip:

Please suggest here to disable or remove the sketch and snip completely from the Windows 10.

 

Snip and Sketch Awkward

Use Windows+shift+s to launch Snip and Sketch. Can snip a screenshot.

Now the problem is this: after snipping the screen shot, it does not automatically appear in the Snip and Sketch app. So I open Snip and Sketch and there's nothing on it.

So I have choose 'new' and snip the screen yet again.

I recall using this once and taking a screenshot and voila! Snip and Sketch appeared with the screen shot duly in the app's workspace, ready for annotations and saving etc. This facility has disappeared. I have re-set it according to instructions, and even
reinstalled it - yet the problem persists.

Snip & Sketch via Shift+Winkey+S doesn't auto-open snip editor

That link was useful, it informed me that after doing a snip that seemed to disappear, rather than just disappearing, it was resulting in a notification in the systray. Looking in there I found the snip and could open the sketch tool to edit it. That seems like a pointless extra couple of steps to me.

I did find the solution I need though, thanks to inspecting the html source of a microsoft page.

I'd found how to create a snip&sketch shortcut, which was to use this command: ms-screenclip:?source=QuickActions which launches the snip dialog, but doesn't open the sketch tool afterwards. Thanks to interrogating that microsoft tips page, I discovered that there's an alternative command: ms-screensketch:?source=QuickActions which directly opens the sketch app (from which you can snip just like you can in the traditional snipping tool).
