Windows 10: How to get Windows 8 to boot from a second drive on Windows 11

SUMMARY: I'm trying to run Windows 8 from a dual boot Windows 11 installation. ERRO MESSAGE: Error code: 0xc0000001 Recovery screen with some options If none selected it turns off the laptop.SYSTEM: Windows 11 Home, version 22H2, OS build 22621.3296HISTORY: The SSD drive was shrunk, The new partition was formatted and Windows 8 was installed to it from a USB configured to boot using UEIF with an installed ISO. BitLocker was turned off to get this to work. The Windows 8 installation did recognize all the configured drives, the new drive was selected and the installation continued and finis

That's normal behavior for windows 7 and 8. When you install only have the OS drive attached. Disconect any other drives

To fix try disconnecting the second drive and boot to your system disk and repair

My Windows boots in about 3 to 5 seconds after the bios is done. Disconnecting my external drive and connecting it to my router for NAS duties eliminates about 8 seconds prior to that. My machine boots in about 11 seconds total right now. (No GOP support at the moment.)

Fast is good though.

I was having a slow boot issue on my Windows 7 install a little while back. It would take about 30 - 40 extra seconds to boot up for whatever reason.

I would try following these steps, while this didn't solve my issue, it did increase Read/Write to where it should be.

In the end, I had to reinstall my Windows 7 entirely to fix the booting issue. It was taking around 35 seconds to boot, and after the fresh install it takes about 7 seconds to boot.
