Windows 10: how to get windows to use correct driver USB Ethernet/RNDIS Gadget

have some raspberry pi zeros, having problem with driversI got driver from here: https://www.catalog.update.microsoft.com/Search.aspx?q=usb%5Cvid_0525%26pid_a4a2initially, the raspberry pi was detected as a serial device on com port 7; I was able to update the driver by "browse for drivers on your computer" and everything worked for a couple hours and raspberry pi was detected in network adapter section of device manager, then it stopped workingnow it is detected as "Unknown USB Device Device Descriptor Request Failed", if I try to update the driver in the same way I get the message "Windo

Windows 10 vs Remote NDIS - Ethernet USB/Gadget not recognized

I'm using a similar "Linux USB Ethernet/RNDIS Gadget" device. On Windows 7/8/10, it is detected and windows installs an Acer RNDIS driver, which does not work and causes the Network and Sharing center to lock up.

In Windows 7/8, I was able to select the "Microsoft Corporation" "Remote NDIS Compatible Device" driver (via Device Manager, right-click and select "Update Driver...") and get it working. Presumably, this is the same driver as the C:\Windows\INF\rndiscmp.inf
mentioned above. However, this is not listed even when you uncheck "Show Compatible Drivers" in Windows 10. I wonder if maybe there is another way to install drivers, e.g. via PowerShell?
