  1. How to handle MS Store apps that are not updating because of inactive users

MS store app are installed automatically as part of the PC provisioning process Paint 3D, Photos, etc. When a new update is released, the apps will automatically update when that users logs in. However, we have many users who have logged onto PCs that may not log back in for awhile. So those apps will never update and the end result are vulnerabilities that remain present on machines. This seems like a poor design process by MS. How can we manage updates for inactive user accounts and get rid of vulnerabilities?

    :)

I think I'll put a list of people's favourite apps in the OP, starting with my own until I get some suggestions, but you can take a look at the Windows Phone app store at the top apps to see what's popular Microsoft Apps

You are both now added, welcome! *Toast :toast:

  3. Store crashes in window 10 : you'll need a new app to open this: ms-windows-store

I just added my wife, Melissa, as a new user account and now the Microsoft Store app is not even listed. When I click on adding an app from your Edge homepage it still shows the window:

You'll need a new app to open this ms-windows-store

I have already typed in the powershell commands suggested and restarted and its still not working. What is the next step? I am using a Dell XPS All In One that started with WIndows 8 - upgraded to 8.1 and then upgraded to WIndows 10.

    Thanks in advance, Jeff

  4. How to handle MS Store apps that are not updating because of inactive users

Windows 10 App Store not working

    Hello,

I tried this solution with no luck. Actually I had tried this before also but thought it may be successful with this step by step solution. I created a local account, logged in with local account, then created a user account with Admin Rights and linked
to MS account. Restarted the computer with new MS Account, however, to my surprise, Windows Store continues to be inactive. Not only Windows Stores but also Windows Camera, Calculator, Windows DVD, Windows Photos, Windows Maps, Zune Music, Zune Videos all
are non active. And when I click any of these application, the message displayed is same "You will need a new app to open this MS Windows Stores"

Can any expert suggest how to overcome this?

    Best Regards,
