Is it possible to have Desktop Shortcut to Network Drive Folder visible to non-Microsoft App such as IBM Lotus Notes ?According to URL below thanks to RYAN KEMPT SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 23, 2012 , Library is a option but requires either:Offline File SynchronizationSymbolic LinksIndexing the Network LocationManually Edit the Library File to include your network pathWindows Library – Add a Non-Indexed Location ~ The Blog of Ryan KemptIs there a better alternative ? Can't Open Network Folder with Programs

I was just going through the network location "DRAGONFLY" listed under "Network" in the left-hand pane. Even my desktop shortcut just pointed to \\dragonfly\trunk. Following your train of thought, I went ahead and went to This PC > Map Network Drive, and set it up that way. Now my desktop shortcut to said folder now points to Z:\ and I seem to be able to reliably access it through Handbrake and other tools I've been using recently. Strange... but it works, so...

To address your concern, we would like you to check the following:

• After updating, check your Network profile under Network and Sharing Center, make sure that it is set to Private and not Public.
  
• If you are using a third party antivirus software, make sure that the
  Network drive is set to Trusted.
• Ping the network drive and check if you're getting a reply.
• Access the network drive through it's IP address via run field and not through the existing shortcut, then check if it is accessible.
• If the network drive is accessible via IP address, we would suggest you to re-map the network drive and delete the previous one that has the red X mark.

How to pin app shortcut to desk top?

Step 1: I suggest you to perform the below steps to add the apps on desktop.

• Click on the “Start button” and locate the App that you want to pin to Desktop.
• Right click on the “App” and click on “More options”.
• Then click on “Open File location” and right click on the app, click on “Send to” option.
• Then select “Desktop (Create shortcut)”.
• Go to “Desktop” and check whether the app is located or not.

Or Step 2: To add shortcuts to the desktop

• Press and hold or right-click the desktop, tap or click New, and then tap or click Shortcut.
• Enter the location of the item or tap or click Browse to find the item in File Explorer.
