  1. How to have File Explorer remember position on-screen

I really would like file explorer to stay in the middle of the screen. Constantly having to move it from the upper left corner of the screen is time consuming!

    Thank you

    :)

Nice if Start screen "remembered" its position

This is not really a problem to be solved now, but a suggestion to Microsoft for a future update or version of Windows.

It would be nice if the Start screen remembered its position. For example, if I open the Start screen and scroll down to those applications that start with the letter "W", the next time I open the Start screen, it reverts back to displaying the top of the
list. It would be nice if it "remembered" I was on "W" and opened at that position.

  3. How to have File Explorer remember layout and position on-screen

This is behavior that greatly puzzles me in regard to the new File Explorer in Windows 10. Previously, well in XP Pro anyway, I had it remember its position and layout for a particular use. That is, when I used the Explorer and then minimized it, it would
reopen in the same position and with the layout it had before.

On Windows 10 I find that after a while of it being minimized, it will open at some default layout in the top left corner of the screen. So while not in use, it seems to forget its position and layout.

Is there a setting somewhere that I can amend so that it remembers?

Windows explorer not remembering window position

a workaround to enable windows file explorer and control panel windows to remember their window position is go to Taskbar and start menu properties. select Top or Right for Taskbar location on screen and those windows will remember their position. Apparently
the bug in their code when it gets enabled has those windows pegged as cascading configuration. the issue seems to only impact those windows
