Windows 10: How to I correct a sync problem on two computers using OneDrive

I have two almost identical desktop pcs. I work on both of them and save my files to OneDrive. If I save files on Computer 1, when I access them on Computer 2, I am asked to change the name of the folder because one already exists with that name. Why would that be? I have one OneDrive account. I have two computers having the OneDrive app on each. I am so tired of having to change the name of my folders over and over because OneDrive thinks that I have multiple copies of the same file.


For example: File name of Authors and Books. This is the name of the file on Computer 1 and on OneDrive online. I change some data in this file and save it. All is fine. It is also saved online. (I check periodically.)


Then I am working on Computer 2. I click on Authors and Books. When I change data in this file and try to save it, I am notified that OneDrive cannot do this and I will have to change the name of the file or delete it from my computer.


How do I get around all of this. How do I work with the same file on two different computers and have the changes show up online and on each computer? Thanks a million.


I am very very frustrated!

Crossfire sync problem

thank you for all the responses.

I enable vsync in the advanced tab of ccc but it doesn't help.

It's happening now in mass effect 2 which is unreal but it also happens in civilization 4 and pirates(an old game).

I don't think it's my display or a cable because when I don't enable crossfire I never have the problem.

My next step is to change the cards around to see if it's my linked card that's the problem.

Qubit is correct it looks like a video sync problem. Like when the traking is of on a VCR.

Windows 10 - OneDrive

Right click on the app and one of the properties has an option to not automatically start it. Uncheck, restart the computer, and it should stop. If you want to go another step further, find the OneDrive app in the start menu, right click on it and uninstall.

If that is still insufficient, there is a batch uninstaller for OneDrive available online. I can copy the code here if you need it.

 

OneDrive Placeholders are coming back, now called On-Demand Sync




"At Ignite 2016, Microsoft has just announced that it is bringing Placeholders back to OneDrive on Windows 10. Now, they are not called Placeholders anymore — Microsoft is renaming the feature to “On-Demand Sync” which makes a lot more sense than “Placeholders”.

The company demoed this feature at Microsoft Ignite today, and it works just like it used to previously. As you can see in the screenshot above, the files stored in OneDrive weighed in around 9GB, but the actual size on disk was only around 3MB which is really neat. Of course, this feature isn’t anything new as it was available back in the Windows 8 days. However, Microsoft removed the feature with Windows 10, and after lots of waiting, they are finally coming back.

In case you are not familiar with OneDrive Placeholders, it’s a pretty neat feature which lets you see all of your OneDrive files on your computer — but they are not actually downloaded on your PC. When you open them, OneDrive will download the files on-demand, saving your local space which is really useful, especially if you have a PC that doesn’t have a lot of storage.

While Microsoft didn’t announce when exactly On-Demand Sync will be available to OneDrive users, we suspect it will be available with Windows 10 Redstone 2 — which is expected to arrive early next year. "
