Windows 10: How to Implement File Sharing

The options I am required to complete don't fit too well.I have W10 & W11 devices I can't connect them properlyI have just purchased a new Micro PC with W11Pro which will replace my W10Pro machine Old.I also have a Windows Tablet and a Laptop W10 sort of inherited this oneHistorically I have failed miserably to Connect via a network connection and have frequently used gmail to send docs back & forth.With the new PC I'll want to access the old PC frequentlyThere just seems no consistency and no obvious way to ensure I get connected.I have eneable network discovery & file sharing

• Have you made any changes on your PC?
• Did you perform any Windows update recently?
• Are you connected to Domain network?

I suggest you to try the below steps and check if that helps.

Multiuser implementation

I don't seem to be communicating my problem very well.

I don't want any network stuff!

I want common files and folders to be shared among multiple users on a single system without referring to that sharing as a network!

Why can't the files and folders be left in the "Documents" folder and only show the files and folders to the currently signed on user? Why go through so many cumbersome steps to hide the shared files and folders? The "Documents" folder where everyone is
expecting to see the shared files and folders is empty except for unwaned stuff that MS has added to their systems. This is a stand alone system! Go back to the Windows 7 implementation; it was simple and actually provided what we want and need!

I don't know what screen shot would show you the complicated steps necessary to find the shared files and folders!

The ability to share files within your homegroup can be set based on your preference in the HomeGroup settings. For us to identify if the file sharing issue is caused by the update or an option not being retained in the HomeGroup setting, we'd like to ask
for additional details. Please answer the following:

• Aside from installing an update, have you also made any recent changes to the HomeGroup settings?
• What specific update have you installed before the file sharing stopped working? To check the Update history, follow these steps:

• On the Search bar, type Settings.
• Open the Settings app from the search result.
• Click Update & security and check the Windows Update section.
• Click the Update history link.

• Have you already checked if the file and printer sharing is enabled in the
  Advanced sharing settings in the Control Panel?
• What build and version of Windows 10 are you using?
• What troubleshooting steps have you tried based on the threads that you've read?

For initial troubleshooting, you can run the built-in troubleshooter for HomeGroup by following the steps below:

• On the Search bar, type Troubleshoot.
• Open the Control Panel from the search result.
• Click View all and locate HomeGroup.
• Click HomeGroup and follow the on-screen guide to run the troubleshooter.
