Windows 10: How to implement S0 idle for HID mini-driver

Hi, All: I need to write a HID mini-driver for a HID device. I reference to the windows sample: vhidmini2. I have implemented the basic functions and it works well. Now I want to implement S0 idle for my device, but because the mini-driver is not the power policy owner default the hid class driver is, so WdfDeviceAssignS0IdleSettings fails with 0xC0000010. I notices that there are two IOCTLs named IOCTL_HID_ACTIVATE_DEVICE and IOCTL_HID_DEACTIVATE_DEVICE, and I think that maybe I can sleep and wake my device when I receive the two IOCTLs. But no matter how long I wait not use

HID Touchscreen Driver

It was listed under HID until I did a reboot for Microsoft updates. Touchscreen works but not listed. No HID driver listed for my Dell Latitude.

 

Hid Mini Driver on my Surface Laptop 1 Not Working

All the keyboard programs/drivers aside from the Hid Mini Driver are working but the Hid Mini Driver says it can't start, Code 10. My keyboard doesn't work at all, none of the keys function, only the mousepad and that only sometimes. I'm afraid to reset
the laptop because I don't know what it would erase and I never made a backup.

 

Problem with HID (Human Interface Device) Drivers Missing

It doesn't need to have two USB Input HID Driver, only one would work fine.

To check for possible cause of the issue, we suggest that you run Hardware and Devices troubleshooter. To do so, follow the steps below:

• Press Windows key. 
• Type Troubleshooting. 
• Click Hardware and Sound. 
  
• Click Hardware and Devices. 
• Follow the on-screen instructions. 

If the issue still persists, uninstall and reinstall the driver.
