Windows 10: How to improve the note-taking experience and the best drawing/handwritten notes app?

I am coming from a note 10.1 from 2012 that died to a Surface book 3. So I thought this would be a MAJOR improvement in ALL aspects. Nope...Taking notes in class is awful. I used to use the old S-note app and Lecture Notes from Acadoid.1st issue which I doubt there is a resolution for. The Pen is less responsive it was hard to notice at first when just comparing but it's almost impossible to make intricate characters that do not rely on long strokes like hiragana or really small ones like super/sub-script for math... Searching Handwritten Notes in OneNote for Windows

Refer to Search for notes in OneNote for Windows 10 and also based on my test, the handwriting
should be searchable in both OneNote for Windows or OneNote 2016.
However, some of them may not be searchable immediately, you should wait for a little bit time for giving the result.



As a workaround, you can also choose to convert the handwritten Notes to text. You can refer to this article:

Convert handwriting to text.

1. Your OneNote for Windows version.
2. Re-open the notebook to see if there’s any improvement.
3. Make new handwriting to see the result.
4. How long has the handwriting been existing but not searchable?

OneNote includes a handy conversion tool so you can change handwritten text into typed text. This is useful if you want to share your handwritten notes in a more legible format with other people.

To convert handwriting to text, do the following:

On the Draw tab, choose the Lasso Select button.

On the page, drag a selection over the handwriting you want to convert.

On the Draw tab, choose Ink to Text.

Searching Handwritten Notes in OneNote for Windows

When I search any of my notebooks for specific text the only results returned are from typed notes. I search for words that I know are in handwritten notes and the result is always - No results found. I am using OneNote for Windows 10 on a Microsoft Surface
