How to increase the System Reserved Partition size

I have downloaded from the same site you mentioned above. What I have found is that this exe file shows version 6.0.553 but when I opened Macrium and clicked about Macrium, the build mentioned is 753 but Windows PE 10.0 option is not there and I don,t think that it is not available in free version but some other version as Macrium have never did this type of difference earlier. If you or any other person is having Windows 10.0 PE option, please post your views.

*Smile No, I am not nervous, just thinking to move to bigger hard disk, not because of this Sysyem Reserve Partition but because my present hard disk may be not sufficient in coming days.

I did not get update via Check for updates but I got update yesterday while restoring. I then checked and found that now Win 10 PE is showing.

How to increase the System Reserved Partition size

I did as per your video and restored on my new hard disk and increased the system reserved partition without any problem. I would like to share one thing which happened during resore (For ref: my old disk had 7 GB unallocated space in the last and new hard disk has 139 GB unallocated space) that after all my allocated partition restored sucessfully, the window my documents opened to save some thing which I could not understand and I closed that window and a message something like "I/O NTFS/MFST operation cancelled (not exactly remember) and the Macrium last bar was showing 100% completed wherein bar above that bar struck at 87%. I closed the Macrium and my Windows 10 is working. What would have the effect of that cancelled opearion? Do I need to restore again?

Yes, the latest update to version 6.1.871 does include WinPE10.
This is normal since your new disk has larger capacity so when you restore Windows with the new layout, whatever left over will become unallocated. Just open Disk Management, right click on the C: drive -> Extend volume then it will merge into your C: Drive and the 139GB unallocated will be merged into C: Drive for use.

I have no idea why you get that message and I am not sure if it related to Macrium. But since Windows boot up fine and just to be safe. Open Admin Command Prompt, copy and paste the line below and run to make sure everything is clean, no corrupted system files, it will take a while to run so just let it completes what it's supposed to do:
    Dism.exe /online /Cleanup-Image /StartComponentCleanup&dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth&sfc
    /scannow&pause

    EDIT:
After everything is done. I suggest that you create a new backup image with the new partition layout to somewhere safe.

You guys are really cracking me up. How is that taking 4, 5 mouse clicks to get it done ? Don't you advise people to make a backup image before working with partitions ? I don't go around advising people to install Partition Wizard just to extend a volume when I can do it in one right click with Disk Management. If you already have Macrium installed and already have a backup image created then what is left to do ? If you can do it with Macrium then why bother to install another piece of software ? And look at the video, How long does it take to do it ???

    @OldMike65
I know that you've recently installed Windows 10 using UEFI from another thread. Correct ? So please try one thing for me. Use Mini Tool and increase the 450MB Recovery partition to see if it works and if you can do it in 10 seconds *sarc

Well I am surprised to see ANY msg from you, to me!!!! I have asked for help from you I think maybe 2 times with in the last week or so regarding my home network. Not one reply.....nothing....but now I get one regarding a comment I made on using Minitool also maybe over a week ago. My comment on Minitool was meant to only mean that using it was easier for me than trying to use Macrium Reflect for the same purpose. Nothing more. I use MR for making all my disk images, and have posted more than once how I prefer using MR over the program I used to use called Acronis. I have also posted that I have been using Acronis since 2006, and even upgraded to version 2016, which I don't use anymore. MR does a great job of making a disk image and does not take up huge amounts of HD space like Acronis. Also 99% of the time I always try to tell folks to always make an image backup BEFORE making ANY changes on their system!!!! So read some more of my posts seeing how you seem to read SOME of my posts. If I didn't tell that user to make an image backup, then it was a mistake, and will admit it, as I TRY to always tell folks to do so. Using MR to change my partitions back when I was doing that, like you said you read my posts, I didn't even know MR could, but, I did know about MiniTool being able too, and it makes changing a partition's size easier in my opinion than using MR. Not everyone on here is as good with MR as you are!!! MiniTool is more simple way of doing partition changes. and also does a good job of doing so sir. Sorry I didn't meet your standards on helping that user. But I was trying.....along with others.

I find it interesting that the 1st time you even mention a post I made was to criticize me, after I have asked you for help on my networking questions with NEVER a reply back from you! You are VERY good at helping folks with networking problems and I have read some of your posts on networking. That's why I thought I would ask you about my small problems on my home network. Only way I finally got my home network running better was to wait for you to answer someone else's network questions, and then I read your answer, to that user and followed your suggestions you made to him. As you didn't seem to ever answer any post to you coming from me. And I really don't expect you to reply to THIS post either topgundcp.
I do respect your knowledge about computers, you know a lot more than I do, and I have no problem admitting that fact sir.
I do have a problem with anyone who jumps on my butt, when I don't think I deserved it, just for trying to help.

    Peace, out.... Michael....

How to increase the System Reserved Partition size

I am going to restore Win 10 again to check what the exact message was if it comes again (will take screenshot). In the meantime please suggest one thing that at some point it ask to choose MBR or GPT. Last time I choose MBR though I do not know what will happen if I choose GPT. Mine is dual Boot XP and Windows 10 64 bit, different hard disks.

Sorry. The syntax must have messed up when I copied and pasted, the command should look as shown below:
    Dism.exe /online /Cleanup-Image /StartComponentCleanup&dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth&sfc /scannow&pause

or you can run separately. Make sure you have spaces in before the slashes:

    • Dism.exe /online /Cleanup-Image /StartComponentCleanup
    • dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth
    • sfc /scannow

If your Windows OS was installed using MBR partition scheme which I believe it was in your case then you would select MBR.

Listen. You got it all wrong. It was not meant to be a critism and if I offended you in any way then my apologies to you.
I've already stated that since OP was not comfortable using Mini Tool so I gave him the alternative. However, I do respect your opinion but don't be over exaggerated.

Now, I asked you 2 questions: 1) Did you try it before making a statement: too difficult and too time consuming ? and I got no answer. 2) Did you try what I asked to see if increasing the size using Mini Tool in your PC would work, still no answer.

In return, you said you asked me 2 questions then where are they ? Normally when you have a question for a person then you would PM them or you just post in some thread that has been resolved which very seldom people would look at. So please be fair.

I copied and pasted your earlier command and the result is attached in my previous post. I think you missed that attachment.

All I saw is the screen shot of sfc /scannow command and it said you don't have the correct version.
