Windows 10: How to install again the Battery drivers? Microsoft AC Adapter and Microsoft ACPI -...

Hello,I accidentally unistalled instead of disabled the two battery drivers on my Lenovo PC: the Microsoft AC Adapter and Microsoft ACPI - Compliant Control Method Battery.I did it from Device Manager.I restarted the PC but it didn't automatically reinstalled the drivers, and now I can't see nor control any of the battery features: it's really as if the battery is not seen by the machine, so I can't regulate the use of the battery nor see the percentage etc...In Device Manager there is no more Battery Section.Where can I download the drivers?What should I do?Thank You in advance for the help

AC Adapter Driver

Hi there,

Just wondering if there was an updated driver for the "Microsoft AC Adapter" driver for Windows 10? My computer has a lot of battery problems, so I went into Device Manager to see what the driver was for the batteries, there is 3: First there is "Microsoft
AC Adapter" second "Microsoft Surface ACPI-Compliant Method Battery" and the third is "Microsoft Surface ACPI-Compliant Method Battery: again. When I go into the Microsoft AC Adapter driver details, it says the driver from the 21/6/2006 and if click on update
driver it says it's the most up to date driver... 11 years ago???

I would really appreciate anybody who can help me with this.

Reinstall Microsoft AC Adapter

My battery does charge despite having uninstalled the Microsoft AC Adapter. How do I plug in the AC Adapter because it seems that when I selected uninstall, it disappeared under Batteries in Device Manager. All that appears under Batteries now is Microsoft
ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery which is the one I disabled and then enabled. Where can I find the Microsoft AC Adapter to reinstall it again? I appreciate the help!

 

AC Adapter Driver

That AC Adapter Driver is the latest provided by Microsoft, it is a very basic driver that has not needed to be changed in over 10 years.

From your Description, it looks like this driver is incorrect:

Microsoft Surface ACPI-Compliant Method Battery

Most Windows Devices use this driver:

Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery

It is strange that you have the driver for the Microsoft Surface loaded . . .

Right click the Microsoft Surface ACPI-Compliant Method Battery driver, choose uninstall

**** your laptop down

Remove the battery and the power chord

Press and hold the power button for 30 seconds

Re-insert the battery and power chord and power up your laptop
