Windows 10: How to install and activate Windows when HDD is replaced? Laptop with Windows pre-installed

The hard drive of my 4-year-old ASUS X455L laptop is in its death throes so I need to replace it soon. I'm planning to install an SSD as replacement. Question is, how do I install AND activate Windows when I replace the hard drive? I bought the laptop pre-installed with Windows 10 Home.

could someone please list the steps they follow to install windows with a dual core processor and windows xp service pack to. I'm reletively new to amd dual core and i feel i'm missing a step. All help will be appreciated. thanx

Hi my mates laptop a Toshiba Satellite L500-1DT won't boot into windows and I was going to reset it back to factory settings, when I set the laptop to boot from hard drive in the bios nothing happens and when windows tried to repair it I got the message ( Media test failure) but when I tried to put a fresh install of windows using my disc I got to the part where you wipe it and it showed three partitions one was SYSTEM and the other was Windows would the pre installed windows be in one of them if so how do I get to it, help, I think my mate had a muck about with it but he is not saying.

 

windows installation wont sense my hdd

hi guys, im at my wits end on this problem
i'm trying to install windows vista 64-bit on a wd2500aaks. i have installed windows on the hdd several times in the past. for some reason, the installation process will no longer sense this hdd. currently i have windows installed on my 2tb hdd, and want to make a back-up install on this 2500aaks(this drive used to be my main drive). both hdds use the same driver so im at a loss as to why the installation process will not see it. i've tried installing from inside windows as well as from boot up. my current windows installation sees the drive just fine. i have tried putting the sata drivers on a cd, but the installation process just says that the drivers dont apply to any installed hardware. i have also tried letting windows get updates from online during the install process, to no avail. i've reset the cmos, undone my oc, tried installing with onlyl 2gb of ram, swapped cables, swapped ports on the mb, all to no avail.

any suggestions?

EDIT: the current windows installation see's and uses this drive just fine.
i have tried deleting the partition and reformatting
i have tried un-plugging my current main drive.
