Windows 10: HOW TO INSTALL DUAL BOOT 10/7 SYSTEM ON NVMe DRIVE WITH 10 FIRST?

hello everyone as much as things have changed in the past 10 years my love of puters hasnt...
since my BIG system has been packed away im doing jobs for other people & here's my first big challenge.

they have an NVMe SSD drive with windows 10 version 2004 on it already... ive partitioned the drive to get it ready for a windows 7 install for a dual boot...the problem is after the 7 installer loads the temp files, the mouse & keyboard stop working at the SET UP NEXT window...ive contacted samsung to find out there was a driver problem with windows 7 & NVMe drives which ive already installed what i thought was the hot fix for ...but now it still happens so ive found a few more options but im not sure which option i should go with since it can very quickly turn into a bottomless pit LOL..

CAN ANYONE PLEASE TELL ME THE FASTEST & EASIEST OPTION I HAVE?
im trying to avoid installing on other drives & cloning partitions...BLA BLA BLA since acronis can only clone entire drives ^ NOT separate partitions...if i can install onto a regular HD & then update that version of 7 to work on an SSD drive maybe i can find a program that can clone partitions?

Windows 10 installer don't detect NVMe drive

I have 2 drives:

• disk1 (SATA SSD, with Ubuntu 16.04)
  • partition1 (sda1: flag /boot)
  • partition2 (sda2: flag /home, encrypted by LUKS)
• disk2 (NVMe SSD)

So, the goal is to install Windows 10 on disk2 and boot it from GRUB (which is on sda1).

What is the problem ?

In disk-choose step, disk2 is missing. However Ubuntu 14.04 installer "see" this disk, so I assume that is software issue, rather than my hardware.

What I tried to solve this problem ?

• loaded Samsung NVMe drivers from this thread
• patched Windows image using DISM tool by adding 2 updates. I followed this guide
• tried to run Windows 10 installed on USB stick to install it

All of them failed.

Please help me to solve this issue.

Thanks - I've just discovered how to make a recovery disk. I think I remember doing that on Windows 10 as well, and to a DVD (before I ended up making 10 unbootable).

Progress so far:

1. Booted into Partition Wiz and reformatted to MBR. Created 3x partitions: System Reserved equivalent, Windows 10 and Windows 7.
2. Booted into MR recovery DVD and retrieved the System Reserved partition from my 2TB external drive.
3. Recovered the Windows 10 partition from external hard drive.

Next steps:

• Check to see if Windows 10 will now work?
• Boot into Windows 7 DVD and install to empty partition
• Repair install Windows 10 if required
• Add Windows 7 to boot list via EasyBCD

Note: For some strange reason, after re-partitioning my hard drive, it has now said that my external hard drive is drive C. Once I've got Windows 10 working, I'm going to have to re-order everything, to:
No Letter: System Reserved
C: Windows 10
D: Windows 7
E: DVD Drive

That should do it!

supports two NVMe/PCIe SSD m.2



I currently have OS Win 10 Pro installed in one... but OS has updates/install-software problems - can Not do neither of the two.



I plan install a second NVMe card, and install OS Windows 10 Pro as dual boot system



Eventually - in 1 year - i will remove first NVMe



What advice can you give... If dual boot Windows 10 Pro, these two NVMe's will get linked? Choose during boot what os boot?



Exist preferably other way - Not linked - but choose which one disk to boot - each time - from BIOS/UEFI... if differ from last boot?
And Not choose during boot, ... like linux dual boot system, not like this.

If Not remove the old disk - during install of the second OS to new disk

The two Disks will linked - like Linux Dual boot, and I will have choice choose OS - Not from UEFI, but like GRAB/Linux choice ????



My Two HDD / in RAID 1 mode will Not affected correct??? If i not disconnect sata slot or power from HDDs, correct?
