Windows 10: How to install latest Windows 10 build on an older PC.

After build 1607 Microsoft deprecated all driver signing methods other than the newest, introduced with Windows 8. Thus many drivers (especially for video) won't install on builds after 1607. If you use the driver setup, Windows lets it go through the motions but silently blocks copying the files and modifying the Registry and other files. If you extract the driver and try to manually install by pointing Device Manager at the INF, Windows will give you a bogus message about not being able to find a file. There is a workaround. Install build 1607 then all the drivers and do a full image backup. Then you may upgrade to a newer build and Windows will leave all the already installed drivers alone. But you still cannot jump straight to 20H2 (or whatever the latest build is when you read this). You have to update to build 1909, which is the newest that will upgrade over 1607. If 1909 fails, try 1903. If that fails, try 1809. If 1809 fails, you're not getting 20H2 onto that PC. Success of a 20H2 upgrade seems to be more likely over 1909 than the other two. After you have one of these builds installed, do another full image backup. Now you can try to install 20H2. The installer will most likely say all is fine then go ahead with the install. It may be lying to you! If there's a problem (such as attempting to upgrade a build older than 1809) you will not know until it's gone all the way through the install then says there's a problem. The problem report will also be untruthful, something vague like "PC Settings" instead of reporting the fact you attempted to update too old of a build, which it should have told you at the start. Then it will (possibly) roll back to where you started. That's why you do the second image backup.

Installing Windows 10 on New PC?

I'm going to be building a new PC on Christmas and want to install Windows 10 on it. I have Windows 10 on my current PC, which I installed upgrading from 8.1 with the files on a USB. How do I go about installing a clean copy of Windows 10 on this new PC? I think I recall something about installing it once makes Microsoft recognize your hardware, but since this will be a PC I'm not sure what steps I need to take. Do I need to go 8.1 -> 10 or is there a method of going directly to 10?

windows xp installation and dual core am

could someone please list the steps they follow to install windows with a dual core processor and windows xp service pack to. I'm reletively new to amd dual core and i feel i'm missing a step. All help will be appreciated. thanx
