Windows 10: How to install PCMover on Win7 Pro?

I have tried everything--patching the registry to point to SYSWow instead of system32,running the installer trouble-shooter, getting a different installation file from laplink, everything.Nothing works.I always get "cannot access" because "install server is not installed correctly".I can't reinstall Win7 from DVD, because I am already updated way beyond it.And I can't do a fresh install, obviously, because I am trying to get "the current"system moved from a win7 machine to a win10 machine. The win10 machine isthe result of a normal update--started with a copy of the win7 machine and did a usb

Laplink PCmover - Aftermath

I recently purchased a Dell desktop XPS). Upon receipt everything was fine as far staring the new computer, etc. So I decided to use the laplink PCmover Pro program that was offered by Dell. I initiated the process, doing all the preliminary things that
PCmover suggested, disabling scheduled tasks, the firewall, etc.. on both computers followed by selecting the "entire planet option" (which was the recommended option). After about 72 hours the transfer was complete and reports were provided. Bottom line:
PCmover said that everything had been successful. Great. THEN I went through their wrap it up process, which included a restart --- BANG! The end. Blue screen of death and a never-ending loop of attempted restarts with the periodic error message of: "INACCESSIBLE
BOOT DRIVE." So, after reading the various reasons for this error message - one of them being the (sometimes) consequences of a Windows 10 update (which I had just performed prior to using PCmover, as suggested by PCmover). At the same time there is all
this stuff about corrupted drivers, change in apps, blah-blah-blah.

That said, here's my question: Is it more likely that I should blame Microsoft for this issue, or PCmover?

A word of warning about Laplink PCmover Pro

Actually I have used Easeus PCTrans and it worked fairly well.

I guess instead of getting upset, you should

HAL (one step in front of IBM)

A word of warning about Laplink PCmover Pro

I recently purchased the product and used it to transfer my settings and apps across a reset of my Windows 10 system.
After the restore I encountered some issues so I decided that since I still had the recovery file available I would do a fresh install of Windows 10 and use PCMover Pro to drop the settings and apps onto the fresh system.
HOWEVER when I tried to perform the recovery I received a message informing me that my registered serial number had no more licences.
I am at the moment embroiled in a dispute with Laplink over this matter. So far the only concession I have gained is that I was granted another licence so that I could recover my system.
Unfortunately I have since experienced various problems with my system and have now restored my system to its condition prior to my adventures with Laplink PCMover Pro.
So my comment about a pretty good job seems to have be somewhat premature.
Hopefully PayPal can winkle a refund out of Laplink.
In the meantime I will think about performing another fresh install and rebuilding my system manually.

IBM = It's better manually.
