I deleted the win7.old folder is there another way to install win7 by removing win10 and still keep the files, since it's saying it will completely delete win10 and files and folders but I want to keep the files I have there

    :)

  2. Windows 10/64bits installation

Yes, it did work from the first try. First I reinstalled my old Win7/32 and only SP1 and IE11(skipped the other hundreds of updates), than I upgraded the Win7/32 to Win10/32, than I downloaded the latest ISO of Win10/64 and burned it on a normal 4,74Gb
DVD (it fits) with the media tool, than I did a direct install of Win10/64 over the Win10/32 installation, on the primary partition, without any other formatting or deleting the partition as for a "clean" install, which won't work since it deletes the "Old
Windows" files (32bits), kind of a reference point for the new Win10/64 installation. Hope this will help other users with similar drawbacks.

Remove Linux installation from Windows10 machine

    Win7 was upgraded to Win10

    1) When I start my machine I get the GRUB prompt to either start Win7 or Linux mint

How do I get rid of Linux and GRUB?

    2) When Win loads I get asked if I want to boot into Win10 or (a no longer existing) Ubuntu

How do I get rid of that.

I haven't deleted or formatted the linux partition. Can I do that without startinjg from a WinBootCD?

Install Macrium Reflect Free and make an image of what you have now to an external hard drive. After you erase the hard drive and re-install Windows 7, you can install Macrium Reflect Free again, mount the image file you saved, and retrieve you documents and other data from it.

Or you can simply backup (copy) any file you need to another disk or USB flash drive and then format the disk and install Windows 7. No, there is no way to save your applications, you have to reinstall them again in Windows 7. It sounds like a lot of trouble, so I would rather fix my Windows 10 issues and keep Windows 10. Tell us what problems you have in Windows 10 and will be glad to help. If it is the ugly flat icons, don't worry! There are ways to fully transform Windows 10 into Windows 7 or 8.1 from icons, start menu, gadgets, anything. There is a tweak for everything, so you can make Windows 10 look as close to Windows 7 as possible. Just ask.

Hi, to move installed programs, including registry entries, from one OS to another, consider Laplink PC Mover (does a very good job) or perhaps Easeus Todo PCTrans.

(I've not tried these with Win 10 but PCTrans was given away very recently).
