Windows 10: How to install WIndows 10 in 1 drive and save data in the other drive?

Hi all. I had installed ubuntu to try it out (instead of doing it virtually). I can't make heads or tails of ubuntu. In any case, my Dell gaming laptop has 2 SSD drives installed, one has 256 GB, the other has 1 TB. I'd like to install Windows 10 on the first drive, to give it breathing room, and install everything else, like games or general apps in the latter drive. During installation, how do I do that? Thanks.

How to image 2 hard drives with raid 1

Hi there
Not sure if this is the best way but should work.

1) backup data to individual external drives (or whatever -- cloud services etc). For basic data - use ROBOCOPY ,XCOPY, or simply Windows / File explorer.
2) install new HDD's
3) Create your RAID array's for the new drives.
4) restore data saved via step 1).

If you have the Windows OS on a RAID device then that's beyond my knowledge - AFAIK Windows needs a hardware card with a driver to boot a RAID device. However the suggestion I've made will save / recover your DATA files.

Save RAW drive - Don't want data


Open Admin command prompt, then type:

1. diskpart
2. list disk ======> Take note of disk # of the RAW drive
3. select disk # ======> is the number in step 2
4. clean
5. exit

Open Disk Management and initialize it, Create Simple, format.
