    How To Install Programs in Safe Mode

    Hi,

    • I've seen posts here saying you can't install, or uninstall programs in Safe Mode.
    • I've seen articles on the Net saying that this or that program will allow you to, or there are articles that show how to change the Registry string to allow you to do so.
    • I've had a tech from Trend go into MSConfig, deselect all non-MS Services, and then install a troublesome finicky program, that otherwise couldn't / wouldn't install, and then obviously re-enable them afterwards.
    So I guess I'm asking; what is the best way to deal with an install that just won't work normally? Is disabling all non-Microsoft Services in MSConfig a good idea just for the time of installing that program?

    I never had the problem of any program not installing just by double clicking it's installer in Windows 7, but in Windows 10, I'm running into installation problems with a couple programs so far. (Trend Maximum & CrashPlan- both of which say that they're
    10 certified).

    I am in networking safe mode. Still doesn't allow me.
    Even started the Windows Installer Service in safe mode.

    Sorry, I misread your question . You want to install windows update and I gather you can download updates but want to install them in safe mode, right ?
