    How to keep mouse from scrolling backward have tried lots of stuff to fix this


    When I'm trying to scroll down a page, it scrolls back up when I release the mouse wheel.


    - I've tried a variety of settings for the number of lines my mouse will scroll in the mouse settings.


    - I've tried low numbers of lines and high numbers of lines.


    - I've tried the setting to scroll a whole page at a time, even though I don't want that setting, it also has no effect on the problem.


    - I've also turned off "Scroll inactive windows," as some people suggest this for this problem, but this change also had no effect on the problem.


    Nothing changes the backward scrolling behavior. I'm using a Logitech mouse and Windows 10. It seems like a lot of people guess at the solution, but no one can solve this. Am I missing something?

    Hi all,
    For some time now I have been having really frustrating scrolling problems - not just with this mouse, but I have tried 2 others with the same results. When scrolling with the wheel, the screen will scroll a short way ( up or down) and then scroll the other way - like a 3 steps forward, 2 steps back! The number of lines scrolling is also random at times, but NEVER smooth. So annoying. I have tried all the mouse wheel stuff in control panel. Having to use the scroll bars is annoying
    Any help appreciated

    How do I change scroll direction of a mouse NOT listed under Mice?

    Thanks; yes, those are great directions and did work to change the direction of the wired mouse that came with the computer. But the mouse I'm using doesn't show up as a mouse in the hardware list, so I can't follow the rest of those steps. I need the mouse to appear on the list of mice in order to complete this sequence.

    scrolling bad

    New event. When placing cursor over a list or row of columns, even the volume bar scrolling is automatic and proceeds to one end of the series and stops. The scrolling also stops when I move the cursor away from the list but am unable to select anything in the list. Not all the possible lists are effected. Other sites have recommended mouse/kb fixes. Have tried all those but the phenomena persists. Have not had any known updates recently and don't have a restore point to try. Any other suggestions? W10Pro 1903
