Windows 10: How To Keep VHD Attached To This PC Automatically? [Windows 11]

Earlier:I created a Dev Drive and added its location to [Disk D:] partition from the settings app last year and it was working fine and was always displayed under This PC in File Explorer.Now:A few weeks ago, I deleted the old one and created a new one in the same [Disk D:] partition but now, whenever I power on my laptop, I need to got to Disk D and open the disk image to mount the VHD to This PC.Please provide a way to keep it mounted automatically like earlier.Edition Windows 11 Home Single LanguageVersion23H2Installed on19-‎Jan-‎24OS build22631.3007ExperienceWindows Feature Experience Pack

Attaching a VHD

I am running Windows 10, the latest build and created a Windows Image Backup image with Backup and Restore (Windows 7) from the control panel.

To see if it works, I opened Disk Management and clicked on Action - Attach VHD and clicked on the VHD file, which is located on an external USB drive, but after that, no VHD was created, tried doing a Refresh and Rescan Disks and still no VHD drive.

What am I doing wrong?

Unable to attach VHD

I am current running Windows 10 on my system. For my office use, I need Windows 7. So, I installed Windows 7 on virtual hard disk by creating a VHD partition of 50 GB as a dual boot system. It was running without any issues; however, today morning when
I started my system, Windows 7 was not starting up. I logged in Windows 10 and tried to reattach the .vhd file, but to my surprise I am unable to attach it. I am getting an error message as "The operation has been Cancelled." Please let me know how to attach
the .vhd file and start using it again. Thanks.

 

VHD disappeared after Windows 11 upgrade

I am perplexed. 3 days ago, I made a VHD on an HDD on my desktop PC. I was running Windows 10 pro v.22H2. Now, this HDD is a 2T drive that has 3 partitions on it (drives E: F: G). I took the F: drive, which had 224 GB free space and allocated 100 GB for the VHD. After initializing and formatting it, it was given a drive letter of J:\. I pasted a copy of Windows 11 ISO onto this drive. My intention was to install Windows 11 onto the VHD so that I could test it out. My next step was to install Windows 11 onto the VHD, so I double clicked on the ISO. Windows Install began. It had been a long time since I had installed a new OS, so I just let it do it's thing. About half way through, I realized that I may have installed the OS onto my C:\ drive instead of the VHD.
After the install was completed, I went to check where it was installed. As I suspected, it was installed on my C:\ drive. It was then that I found that the VHD had disappeared, including the Windows 11 ISO that I had copied into the VHD.
I cannot explain why this happened. I am okay with Windows 11 being my only OS, but still baffled by what had occurred.
