Windows 10: How to know how many deleted files in dustbin from its icon

Issue: I have a "BAD" habit to clear my dustbin every time I see it is not empty to free my disk space my poor small disk is not that large as you expected. But what I really wanted is when there are many files then I really want to clean it I know the small number of files does not mean it is small size, but normally say, more files mean more space. The issue is, no matter how many files in the dustbin, it always shows the same icon, that makes me have to click the dustbin icon to find out how many files are there, and then do the clean. In most time, it only contains one small file, and

I can only suggest that you
1 Add a list of steps you have already taken.
2 Add a comment about restarting the computer. Do the deleted icons disappear then?
2 Add a comment explaining if any Desktop items do delete correctly and whether or not there are any significant differences between those that do delete correctly and those that don't.
3 Add a list of any OS tweaks you have done & any third-party OS-related utilities you have run.

I assume you have already reinstalled your display driver.
I don't see a Repair install as being relevant. Repair Install - TenForumsTutorials

deleting hard drive files

May we know what type of file are you trying to delete? Would it be Office documents, media files, or picture files? If you're trying to delete files for free some space on your device. We suggest to perform a Disc Cleanup. Kindly follow the steps below to
perform the task:

• Choose the files to delete

How can i restore my accidental deletion of about 1/2 of my desktop icons

Hi,

Since your desktop icons are not in the Recycle Bin, we suggest that you create a new shortcut for your preferred applications. Follow the steps below:

• Right-click on your desktop > New > Shortcut.
• Enter the path of the application you want to create an icon or select Browse... > click OK > Next > Finish.

Note: If the deleted icons on your desktops are not shortcuts, but are saved files, it may be possible to retrieve them if they are saved in OneDrive.
