Windows 10: How to leave the family I am in - Microsoft Account

I just reset my PC and decided to use the same outlook account I've had for years on my Xbox.I cannot access my virus and threat protection settings, because the IT administrator has limited access. When I view the accounts on Microsoft Family Safety, it is showing my account on my PC, and then it is showing another account that is the family organizer. That other account has my name. Why would I have 2 accounts in the family? I didn't even know a family was a thing. Don't know how to get into the second account if I'm only using one outlook email.

We appreciate the time and effort that you have invested in to fix the issue.

As per the above information, I suggest that you refer to the steps below and check if you are bale to remove the unknown account.

• Sign in at account.microsoft.com/family with your Microsoft account on any PC or device
• Click/tap on Remove under Adults in
  Your family
• Click/tap on the adult account you want to remove, and click/tap on Remove
• You (adult) and all other adults in family will now get an email confirming the adult has been removed from the family

Good to see you in Microsoft Community.

Before leaving, family members and organizers should remove saved places and location alerts they would not like to remain in the group. Location alerts must be removed by the individual who set them for saved places to be deleted. Leaving or being removed from a family group will not delete Microsoft accounts.

You can choose to opt out on your own or have a Family Safety organizer remove you from the family group:

• To remove yourself from a family group
  

1. Using a web browser, sign in to family.microsoft.com.
   
2. Click next to your name and select Leave family group.
   
3. Select Remove to confirm.
   

• To remove another member from a family group
  

1. Using a web browser, sign in to family.microsoft.com.
   
2. Click next to the person's name and select Remove from family group.
   
3. Select Remove to confirm.
