  1. How to locate the error log file after crash of the Windows 10 and to ascertain the cause

My system is a Windows 10 Pro 21H2 version installed in Asrock Extreme Z170 with i7-6700, 8 GB RAM 2133, 150GB SSD.It happened to start crashing suddenly since a few days ago. Tried to enter into safe mode as well as system restore. But the processes are haphazard and failed most of the time. I restarted the pc, it may appear "preparing automatic repair", "diagnosing the pc" and sometime come up with a blue screen with advanced option of troubleshooting and system restore. But most of the time it fails and I have to force it to restart and the process go over and over. Once back into normal

    Saves log files ?

You can either read the files in Windows or my preferred method is.....

    Download CCcleaner from here...........

CCleaner Professional | Try the world’s most trusted PC cleaner, free!

You can then run cleaner, you will see the log files listed, then if you right click you can save as a text file and then have a read. You may also get an "error reporting" log listed seperatly.

Move log file location to ramdisk

    Hi,
I'd like to have the log file in another location than the hard drive. I have a ram disk installed and like to put the log file from ATITool there, so the hard disk must not not be accesses every 10 seconds. It doesn't matter if it lost after a reboot.

Is this possible? I would appreciate any help!

    Thx

How to locate the error log file after crash of the Windows 10 and to ascertain the cause

10 Crashing Randomly and During Updates and File Downloads

This is a re-post from here.

I have a Windows 10 PC that I run 24/7. I have Windows Updates disabled through the Group Policy Editor. I still perform updates manually every few days. Windows Defender updates work fine. Other Windows updates cause the PC to crash, no BSOD or anything, it just turns off. I've looked for 1074, 6006, and 6008 event log files to explain why and I haven't been able to find anything.

Other times the computer just randomly crashes and also sometimes when downloading files. The symptom is the same, I check on it and find it powered down or it just shuts off while I'm using it. It boots back up fine and I see no cause listed in the event logs.

I have been through the 3 tests suggested to me on the old thread. SMART looked good, memtest ran for 33 hours for 8 passes with no errors, and prime was run for 3 hours with no errors.

I think the next step was to run V2 Log collector, that data is attached.

    Any help is appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Chris
