Windows 10: How to log into windows 10 without a password

Hi, recently my relative passed away. He had a huge collection of old laptops which he updated to windows 10. I was given 2, but he has passwords on them and I can't use the laptops because I can't get past the log in screen. Is there anything I can do? Before anyone asks, I can't ask my other relatives if they know the password as he was a hermit and lived completely isolated from everyone else

How to disable password at log on?

To assist you better, I would like to know whether you are logging in with Microsoft account.

If you are using the Microsoft account to log in, I would like to inform you that it is not possible to sign into Windows without the password.

However, you may create a local account/user account and use that account to sign in, so that it will not ask you for the password when signing in.

I suggest you to refer to the article created by Andre da Costa
(MVP, Community Moderator & Wiki Author) and check if you are able to retrieve the files that are missing from the computer.

How to: create a Local Account in Windows 10

Once you have created a local account, Please follow the below steps, if you would like sign in to a user account without password.

• 
  Press Windows
  + R.
  
• 
  Type netplwiz.exe
  
• 
  Uncheck this box “Users must enter a username and password to use this computer” and press apply.
  
• 
  Automatically sign in password box prompts. Write your Password twice and press OK.

However, you may prefer to keep a local account for privacy reasons. If you do, though, some Windows 10 features—like Cortana—may not work. Despite the default behavior, the Windows 10 Store is not one of them. You can still log in to your Microsoft account for just the Store without switching to a full Microsoft account. The process, however, is not terribly obvious. To do so, follow these steps:

• Launch the Store from your Start menu.
• Click the user icon next to the search box.
• Click “Sign-in” from the menu that appears.
• Choose “Microsoft account” and log in like normal.
• When the “Make it yours” box appears do not enter your password. Instead, click “Sign in to just this app instead.”
