Windows 10: How to log into Windows with a forgotten password?

I know this will make me seem like a tech illiterate but I need some help. I am attempting to log into Windows but am unable to do so due to a forgotten password. However, unlike most of the tutorials I am looking at, there is no reset password on my screen and I am just stuck at my profile page. Looking for any guidance.

Forgotten windows password

I've taken home two of my friends laptops to fix. One has a harddrive problem that i'm fixing now. The other is a laptop given to her son by school. Because it's a laptop for children it has parental controls set high. She just wanted me to change the settings on her profile, no problem there but she has forgotten the password to her account and her sons. So I can't log on. A couple of years ago a friend of mine went on my comp wich had a password. I asked him how he logged on and he just replied "it's easy when you know how" So there must be a easy way to get around this problem. Can anyone tell me how to remove or resset the password?
